Welcome to my lifetime obession, Sarek and Amanda. For over 35 years, since I was 14 years old and Journey to Babel 1st aired November 17th, 1967, I have been in love with these characters. There has been a lot of water under the bridge since I first met them, a marriage has come and gone, a child born and grown, friendships found and lost, and deaths of those who most marked my love for these characters. Still they have lingered on with me, never far even in the hardest of times. I spent more than 20 years of my life in "active" Star Trek Fandom, finding less and less available for me to illustrate or even read about them. It was only the fact that I had done something that the girl of 14 would never have dreamed of, get to know Mark for the last 8 years of his life, that kept me in fandom while working for him at his convention appearances.

When he became ill, they dissapeared. It was too painful to continue on for me and everything went into hibernation, until late summer of 2001.
They came peaking around the corners of my mind once more,
looking to see if they were still welcome.
And they were there and somehow remain, a little piece of magic.
A romance and a fantasy filled with the magic of insurmountable obstacles,
a port in the storm, when happy endings in real life seem so far away...

2 of these sections are dedicated to people who were very dear to me both of which I lost to cancer, one leaving me the day before the anniversary of the other's death: Mark Lenard and Dusty Jones. Dusty and I worked for Mark in the 8 years before his death, and we both shared many memories. She and I were best friends for over 16 years, and it was our mutual affection and fascination for these characters that 1st brought us together. They were to remain an integral part of our friendship, 2 distant and beloved friends who we gossiped and chatted about constantly. She would say that all she ever wanted in life was to be able to tell these stories, but life, and a very Virgo
need for perfection kept on interferring.

Dusty spent the better part of her life writing and rewriting what would have been a huge work, spanning Sarek and Amanda's entire lives, A Most Distant Blood, under her pen name, L.L. MacLeod. (Dusty's real name was Lauren Lee and she loved that gaudy MacLeod plaid.) She left a massive amount of work to be pieced together, a task I am eventually going to try to make a go of. It won't be the same, and although I knew much of the story, there are things that I found that she hinted at but never wrote down. Things that are now lost, saved as they were, only in her memory.

And though I always consider my self primarily an artist, I do write a little, so you will also find links to my poetry and (very) short stories,
as well as some of my art and my large image library.

And you won't find any character bios here! As far as I am concerned the only "canon" that I can be sure is true is that information included in Journey to Babel and Yesteryear. The movies, I could handle all but STV, which was a bunch of nonsense as far as I was concerned, if for no other reason than a high-risk pregnancy being delivered in a cave. Once that travesty was visited upon me, the movies well, I didn't need to try and rationalize them any more after that. TNG was the evil alternative universe as far as I am concerned and none of the pro-novels is worthy of making it to my list, including SAREK, which had precious little to do with Sarek to begin with. My Amanda lives to a very ripe old age, well over one hundred and once she does pass on, Sarek does not survive her long.

I tell people, let their hearts guide them in what they write and draw! Don't feel you have to limit yourself to a "canon" that only contradicts itself anyway. You don't need to rationalize or abandon your ideas to fit into someone else's.
Be true to your heart and most of all-have fun!

True Vulcan Confessions
This was Dusty Jones' site dedicated to her fanzines which contain a lot of Sarek and Amanda stories, some serious and some just plan silly. I still have copies of her last two available for sale, so if you're interested in a good old-fashioned, hold-it-your-hands, real zine, check this out!

Selek has not one but two sites, chock full of photos, links and fan fiction:
His general page:
Sarek and Amanda's Pictures and Links
And his adult page:
Sarek and Amanda's Lair

Karracaz
Carol Hart is a multi-talented writer and artist. Though most of her stories with Sarek and Amanda deal with Spock's childhood, she is branching out with serveral major Sarek and Amanda stories in progress. She also has a wonderful array of her very original photo manipulations at
Karracaz's Gallery of Art

Sands Of Vulcan
Joanna's primarily into Spock and Saavik, but she also has some Sarek and Amanda stories on her site as well as some great video tributes.
